1 week!

Well mates,

I am down to my last week in London. I have finals Mon., Tues., & Wed. I am then going to try and squeeze in everything that I still want to do in London in the 2 days that I have left before I come home! It is going to be bittersweet. I have made so many great friends here. Some of us have become closer in the 3 ½ months here than I have with friends over the past 4 years at Tech. We are making plans of reunions to visit each other this next year. This was an opportunity of a lifetime and I am so glad that I got this experience. A huge thanks to my uncle Robby for helping me get here. I can never thank you enough. I feel like this was the next step that I needed in my life; to explore the world and learn new things; to be challenged, and to grow. Can’t wait to see what lies ahead in the future. I threw a coin in the Trevi fountain and I will return to Europe! There is still so much world outside of the United States border to see and experience. I love you all! See you in 8 days!

One month from tomorrow.

Two more big papers to finish by Thursday night and then I am off to Rome for the weekend (my last weekend trip before I head home). I will post pictures on facebook as soon as I get back. 1 Month from tomorrow at this time I will be flying out of Heathrow! I am so excited to see my friends and family! The Royal Mail is not on strike right now so I got a few postcards sent out. The weather is not terrible, but it’s a little depressing…no sun, little daylight, rain, cloudy, rain. We are in autumn and the leaves are falling off the trees. Everything is still green though…very beautiful! Temperatures are in the 50/60s during the day and high 30/40s at night. I walk around the neighborhood everyday…most of the time it doesn’t phase me…however, sometimes I have those special moments when I realize “Holy Moses, I live in LONDON!” I will miss it! This is has been the most amazing opportunity.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…in London

Last night was the Christmas lighting in London. I have posted some pictures on facebook from the lights on Oxford Circus. They also lit lights in Regent’s Park and other areas of London. Jim Carrey & Colin Firth turned on the lights. Following the lighting was the world premiere of A Christmas Carol. I am going to go to the other areas and take pictures as well so those are TBA later. Starbucks is now serving their holiday favorites and the telly is full of Christmas commercials. Tis the Season in London.

Changing of the Guard @ Buckingham Palace

Yesterday my classes were cancelled so I went to watch the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. I am sure I would have enjoyed it better if I was standing in a better spot to see, and if it wasn’t cold and raining! However, I did get to hear some good music. I have posted a video clip on my facebook page of the band playing “What a Wonderful World” so check that out. I am going to try and post some pictures on here but if I can’t I will start posting all my pictures on facebook.

Midterms this week…spent the whole weekend studying…NOT!

Friday was filled with laundry and late night ice cream with the girls. Saturday morning we got up early and went to Primark and Oxford circus to do some shopping. We brought our purchases back to our rooms and had some lunch. Showered and then headed to Camden market, came back and had dinner at Byrons. Delicious! Today, I slept in and then had brunch, watched some Grey’s Anatomy on the internet, and had some “Brittni time” filled with music, chai tea latte, tiramisu, park bench, journal, and long walk around Kensington. Midterms shouldn’t be terribly bad…hopefully. Friday, I leave for Greece for a week! Can’t wait to have a little break and enjoy some sun + beach + ray bans + beautiful sunsets + pictures + and some Greek mythology!

Rigoletto at the Opera!

So tonight I enjoyed a veggie burger at my favorite restaurant and then went to the Opera and because two people didn’t show up to the group I got to see Rigoletto for free! Hello Everyone!

Just wanted to say hi and hope everyone has a good week…I am finishing up a novel and then reading a play, writing an essay plan, and another paper for this week, then prepping for midterms over the weekend! Midterms begin next week and I leave for Greece next friday! Can’t wait to have a break…kind of…have to read a really big novel during my break while laying on the beach! Love you all and I will update you soon!

Ps. Just got a really good grade on my first essay plan! Hope all else follows the same!

Just thought I might leave you with some funny pictures. The first picture is what you would commonly find on a vending machine. The funny thing is that it dispenses 20p back but doesn’t accept 20p. So where do they come from?

The second picture is funny because everywhere in London is monitored on camera by CCTV. Everywhere you walk you see the signs and cameras. You sometimes feel like you are on Big Brother.

The last picture is self explanatory!
